European culture channel ARTE has completed a deal with ABC Commercial for "Wild Wars Australia" for their Nature & Animals offering. The two-year agreement gives ARTE exclusive rights in French and German territories. "Wild Wars Australia" (HD 4x60’ Wildbear Entertainment) will premiere on ARTE in late November with other broadcast dates to be announced.

The ARTE sale leads a wave of Australian natural history programming recently sold internationally – China’s CMG and National Geographic have also contracted "Wild Wars Australia" for channels in Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, Australia, NZ and the Pacific Islands.

This four-part series provides a glimpse of rarely seen footage of Australia’s resilient and strange native creatures, some of which are under threat.  On a continent of extremes, these remarkable animals, birds and reptiles fight for survival against the very elements themselves, facing the challenges of epic environments.

“'Wild Wars Australia' is part of our impressive wildlife factual slate and has attracted considerable attention since it was launched at Mipcom 2020,” said Jessica Ellis, Head of ABC Content Sales & Distribution.

Additional programs from Wildbear Entertainment on the ABC Commercial slate are "Wild Australians", sold to British Columbia’s Knowledge Network, and both "Wild Forces" (HD4x60’) and "Wild Australians" (HD6x60’) are going to Sweden’s public broadcaster SVT, for their SVT Knowledge and SVT Play services.

Ellis added “We are really thrilled with the market attention these unique programs are receiving and look forward to seeing how they engage audiences around the world.”
