A+E Networks Global Content Sales has appointed Dr. Kerstin Gühne, PhD as Vice President of Global Content Sales, EMEA. The news was announced today by Patrick Vien, Group Managing Director of GCS, to whom she will report.“Kerstin is a highly accomplished international content distribution executive who brings decades of experience dealing with both traditional and emerging content platforms to her new role. Her vast knowledge of the ever-changing global marketplace will play an important role as A+E Networks continues to expand its footprint throughout the region,” said Vien.
In her new role based in London, Dr. Gühne will oversee distribution of A+E’s vast library of premium, best-in-class content across all platforms including linear, AVOD, and SVOD throughout various markets including German-speaking Europe and Turkey.. “I am thrilled to be joining the A+E Networks Global Content Sales team during such an exciting time of growth. The executive joins the company following a 15-year tenure at Sony Pictures Television, where she served as Managing Director then Senior Vice President of Sales and Distribution. During her tenure at Sony, she oversaw distribution of all Sony Pictures Entertainment content, including feature films and television products, across linear and digital content platforms in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
She began her career at Bertelsmann AG in the publishing division, then moved to the RTL Group as Head of Program Acquisition for Super RTL. From 1999 to 2001, she built up the TV3 (SBS) station in Zurich as chief buyer, where she was responsible for all program purchasing and editing. Before joining Sony, Gühne also served as Vice President International Distribution at DIC Entertainment, where she was responsible for the German-speaking regions, Scandinavia, and Eastern Europe. Gühne also holds a professorship for the University of Applied Sciences Fresenius, Germany.
