A+E Networks Global Content Sales has agreed to distribute Season 2 and 3 of the globally renowned series, "Miss Scarlet and the Duke" in key markets worldwide, with the exception of the US, UK & Ireland, English-speaking Canada, Africa and Benelux. Season three of the full throttle detective-drama set in 19th century London, is set to premiere in the United States on Masterpiece on PBS, 8 January, 2023, 8PM ET. The news was cofirmed by Patrick Vien, Group Managing Director, A+E International.

“A+E Networks is thrilled to be the global distributor of Miss Scarlet and the Duke, the series that launched our thriving international scripted co-production business,” Vien said. “We’re always on the lookout for projects that boast rich storytelling, a strong diverse cast, the potential for repeat seasons, and the chance to work with phenomenal production partners. Miss Scarlet checks off all of these boxes for us, and we’re more than confident that our partners around the world will find a passionate audience.”

Set in the same 1850's London society that gave rise to Jack the Ripper, this Victorian detective drama features a fearless, independent heroine played by Kate Phillips (Peaky Blinders). With her inquisitive mind, Miss Eliza Scarlet has always been more interested in running her late father's detective agency than behaving like a proper lady, much to the chagrin of family friend Inspector William Wellington of Scotland Yard (Stuart Martin, Jamestown). But nothing has prepared her for the dangers she is about to face as a woman in the murder investigation trade. “Miss Scarlet and the Duke is a fantastic series and we are excited to bring the newest seasons to fans around the world,” said Andrea Downing, President, PBS Distribution.

In Season one of the title, After Eliza Scarlet's father dies of a heart attack, she takes over his private detective business against the wishes of everyone around her, including family friend Inspector William Wellington (aka the Duke), of Scotland Yard. Can Eliza prove to herself and others that she has got what it takes to be a detective? The first season of Miss Scarlet and the Duke, which premiered as part of MASTERPIECE in 2020, captured the largest audience in the first 30-days of any new series launch on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel.

Season Two begins a few months after the end of Season One. Eliza Scarlet (Kate Phillips, Peaky Blinders) has solved her father’s murder while her relationship with Inspector William Wellington (Stuart Martin, Jamestown), aka the Duke, continues to slowly simmer. But Eliza continues to face the challenges of being a professional woman in male-dominated Victorian London. Lastly, the third season of the fan-favorite series sees Victorian London’s pioneering female private eye Miss Scarlet (Kate Phillips) taking on intriguing new cases with her Scotland Yard source and soulmate William “the Duke” Wellington (Stuart Martin). There’s no shortage of criminality – or “Will they or won’t they” encounters.
