Anne Lagercrantz appointed new CEO of Sveriges Television

Currently Deputy CEO at SVT, she will take over the role from Hanna Stjärne on November 1.

Anne Lagercrantz, currently Deputy CEO at Sveriges Television (SVT), has been appointed SVT’s new CEO. She will take over the role from Hanna Stjärne on November 1. The executive has previously held roles as Head of TV4 News, Head of the national newsroom Ekot at Swedish Radio, and head of SVT's News and Sports division.

“SVT exists for everyone in Sweden. It has a special place in audience’s lives in terms of trust and use, and the company has to be led, for that reason, by the very best of media executives. Anne Lagercrantz has the exceptional qualities required for the role. She has the ability to see the unprecedented changes taking place across the media landscape, to be sensitive to the audience’s evolving media needs, while also being a courageous journalistic leader. In addition, she is an inspiring and energetic executive with an exceptional ability to communicate. I am delighted that Anne Lagercrantz is now taking on the role of CEO of SVT,” said Christina Björklund, the Chair of SVT's Board.

Anne Lagercrantz is currently Deputy CEO with overarching responsibility for AI at SVT, for the development of SVT’s digital services, for the company’s security and crisis preparedness as well as for analysis, data and planning. She is also Chair of the Swedish news publishers’ body Utgivarna and Vice-Chair of the Constructive Institute at Aarhus University.
