APC Kids has officially rebranded as Madgic Distribution, marking a significant milestone in its integration into the rapidly growing Madgic group. The name change comes just months after Madgic acquired a majority stake in the youth-focused distribution company, which also includes the animation studio Zephyr Animation.
Veteran executive Lionel Marty will now lead both Madgic Distribution and Zephyr Animation, known for hits like "Lana Longbeard" and "Mogu & Perol." Co-founder David Sauerwein will continue in his creative role at Zephyr. This move strengthens Madgic’s position as a major force in global kids and family entertainment. The newly branded Madgic Distribution boasts a robust catalogue of over 1,800 episodes across 50 series, offering both animation and live-action content for audiences of all ages. Flagship titles include "Jade Armor," "Angelo Rules," "Isadora Moon," "Emerald," and "Walter’s Christmas," all of which enjoy a global presence on top-tier platforms and broadcasters.
Madgic itself was born from the 2022 merger of French animation studios 2 Minutes and Label Anim, both known for high-quality storytelling and technical versatility in 2D/3D animation and documentary production. With studios in Paris, Angoulême, La Réunion, and Nanjing, and programming on Netflix, Disney+, and PBS, Madgic is experiencing rapid growth.
Lionel Marty said the rebranding coincides with a promising agenda.: "Now that we have seamlessly integrated into the Madgic group, we felt it was time to rebrand as Madgic Distribution. It is business as usual, and we will be heading to Le Rendez-Vous in Le Havre and MIPCOM in Cannes over the next few months with a robust slate of animation and live action for kids of all ages, and we will continue to work with international producers to help develop, finance, co-produce, and distribute their content," commented.
