Beach House Pictures, a Blue Ant Studios company, and Motion Content Group have begun production on series two of Banijay Rights’ hit culinary competition format, "MasterChef" Singapore. The second installment, which is set to air on Singapore’s Mediacorp Channel 5, meWATCH, and YouTube in February 2021, will see the return of the world’s greatest cooking competition that showcases Singapore’s unique and outstanding food and the talents of its best amateur cooks.
“Season two includes even tougher challenges while continuing to draw on the great cultural diversity of Singapore’s cuisines and trends from around the world,” says Jocelyn Little, Managing Director, Beach House Pictures. “Winning the title of MasterChef Singapore is the chance of a lifetime that can ignite a culinary career. In season two, the top 24 home cooks in Singapore, chosen from hundreds of applicants with a passion for food, are selected to fight it out in a series of high-pressure cooking auditions. The Top 12 are then rewarded with the opportunity to compete in the MasterChef kitchen to become the next Singapore MasterChef.
Created by Franc Roddam, "MasterChef" is produced and distributed by Banijay Rights and is the most successful cookery television format in the world having been adapted locally in over 60 countries, it is seen in over 200 territories and watched globally by over 300 million viewers. “MasterChef” Singapore Season 2 brings a uniquely Asian flavour to the original factual-entertainment format and is executive produced by Beach House Pictures’ Jocelyn Little, Andrew James Holland, Geraldine Orrock, and Fera Rosihan and Steven Murphy from Motion Content Group, it is directed by Kenny Png.
