BANIJAY’S MARIE SCHWEITZER TO CONTINUE AS CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER

Schweitzer will be responsible for identifying strategic expansion opportunities and supporting the creation of the company's overarching strategy.

Banijay unveiled its decision for Marie Schweitzer to continue her role as Chief Strategy Officer. “Marie has been with us since the start and is very much a key figure in the growth trajectory of the business,” Marco Bassetti, Chief Executive Officer, Banijay, said. “Aiding most recently on the complex acquisition and integration of Endemol, she has been at the forefront of our strategy and development, consistently balancing content expertise with an entrepreneurial spirit.”

In the recently modified structure, Schweitzer will continue to report to CEO, Marco Bassetti. Her tasks will include supporting the development of Banijay’s overarching strategy and identifying strategic expansion opportunities. She is also set to oversee numerous wider departments. Her direct reports include Marie-Ange Philippe, Head of Market Research; Edouard Minc, Director of Corporate Business Affairs; and Kate Humphreys, Director of Group Communications.

Appointed to her current role in September 2016, Schweitzer joined the group during its launch as co-Head of Market Research. Since then, she has took on several positioins, with strategy and business development being the most recent. She has been working with the executive team on M&A and growth opportunities, including the recent merge with Endemol Shine Group and leading the heads of the each division. “It’s a proud moment to see the hard work paying off as we morph into the biggest unscripted player on the planet and with a host of super-brands to now call our own, a fantastic raft of talent and an unrivaled pipeline of premium IP, the opportunities are endless," Schweitzer said.

Schweitzer joined the company in 2008 since its launch. She contributed in great part to the recent acquisition and will continue to lead strategy, research, and communications. Before Banijay, Schweitzer was Head of Market Research at Endemol France following several years in production. “I have spent the past 12 years at the heart of a company that has gone from one territory to 22 and a few employees to thousands worldwide,” Schweitzer said.
