Bavaria Fiction has appointed Jonas Baur as an executive producer for the company at its Munich and Berlin offices. He will assume his new role on 1st October.

Baur's remit includes the development and production of serial formats. Jonas Baur reports to Marcus Ammon, Managing Director Content. "The development and production of long-running series are among the most difficult and at the same time most fulfilling tasks in fictional storytelling," Jonas Baur, Executive Producer, Bavaria Fiction said. "That hasn't changed in the 25 years I've been doing this job. And it remains exciting, because new market participants and ever-changing conditions make us constantly rethink narrative and production methods and find new ways of working. I appreciate Marcus Ammon’s trust in me and I am excited about my new role."
Before accepting his role with Bavaria, Baur worked for ITV Studios, where he produced the TV movie "Die Tänzerin und der Gangster" for Sat.1.He also contributed to UFA Serial Drama for more than two decades, including executive producer of "Spotlight" and "Sterne für Berlin" as well as producer of "Verbotene Liebe" and the telenovela "Verliebt in Berlin", the first season of which he also co-developed. He was also a founding member of the UFA Green Team for Sustainable Producing in 2014. Jonas Baur studied law with a focus on media law at the University of Bonn and the Free University of Berlin.
