BBC hires Sandy Robertson as Head of its Factual Entertainment Glasgow division

BBC Studios has appointed former Raise the Roof Productions executive Sandy Robertson as the first Head of Production for the company’s Factual Entertainment Glasgow division.

BBC Studios has appointed Sandy Robertson as the first Head of Production for the company’s Factual Entertainment Glasgow division. Working alongside Creative Director Adeline Ramage Rooney, Robertson will be responsible for leading production management teams across a range of output for the unit, where she will also play an integral role in helping shape and grow the Glasgow base and its production management leadership team.

The Factual Entertainment unit in Glasgow produce some of BBC Studios’ biggest brands and titles including “Dragons’ Den,” “Amazing Hotels,” “Points of View” and “Lost Dogs Live.”  BBC Studios’ Factual Entertainment and Events unit is also responsible for programming including productions such as “The One Show,” “Countryfile,” “DIY SOS,” “Morning Live,” “Antiques Roadshow,” “Gardeners’ World,” and “Bargain Hunt,” among other content.

Robertson joins BBC from Raise the Roof Productions, where she oversaw the development and delivery of numerous productions and high-end content for a range of genres and broadcasters. Some of her previous titles include “Holiday Homes in the Sun,” “Kirstie & Phil’s Love it or List It,” “A Country Life for Half the Price,” “Escape to the Farm with Kate Humble,” and “Phil Spencer’s Britain in 100 Homes.”

Adeline Ramage Rooney, Creative Director at BBC Studios for Factual Entertainment and Events in Glasgow, said: “I am thrilled to have Sandy join our rapidly expanding Glasgow base. She brings a powerful combination of experience, strategic thinking and bold ambition, so I am hugely excited at the thought of what we can build together.”

Katie Brewer-Frankl, Director of Production for Factual Entertainment and Events at BBC Studios, added: “As we move into an ambitious period of growth for Factual Entertainment in our Glasgow base, it is absolutely crucial we have a production management leader to match. Sandy is an exceptional and well-respected Head of Production, and we could not be more thrilled she is joining us later this summer.”
