Big Media, a global production company and channel provider, is expanding into the global movie distribution market with the acquisition of a slate of feature films from Plymouth Blvd Productions. The deal provides Big Media with a robust library of high-quality Hollywood films, many of which will be first-run outside of the United States. The announcement was made by Big Media co-founder and President Danny Wilk.
The movie package from Plymouth Blvd includes holiday-themed titles such as “Cupid for Christmas,” starring Richard Kind and Melanie Stone, “My Christmas Fiancé,” with Jack Parr and Denise Richards, and “Menorah in the Middle,” starring Sarah Silverman.
“As production costs climb and audience expectations grow, the demand for premium, scripted content that’s ready to air is at an all-time high,” said Wilk. “Our relationship with Plymouth Blvd gives us exactly that—a steady flow of high-quality, first-run movies that complements our factual slate and helps our clients program more effectively through the holiday season and beyond.”
The package also includes high-octane action films like “Hands,” starring MMA icon and actor Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, and “To Get Herr,” starring Amber Stevens West. Rounding out the slate are titles across the horror/thriller, rom-com, drama, and sci-fi genres, offering a diverse and commercially appealing mix for global buyers.
