Blue Ant Media gave a glimpse of its slate of new and returning Canadian original productions for next season, which include paranormal programming, documentaries, and weather series dominating the schedule. The new and returning series hitting TV screens will include world broadcast premieres with several series available for licensing globally by Blue Ant International. “During these unprecedented times we’ve seen record audiences get hooked on our passion-focused, distinct programming they can’t find anywhere else,” Jamie Schouela, President, Canadian Media, Blue Ant Media said. “As production resumes, Blue Ant remains committed to strengthening our Canadian original programming with fresh, new content packed with entertaining storylines and characters that we know will resonate with audiences across the country.”
The new series, "Paranormal Hotline," follows a haunted phone call into a stranger-than-fiction story told by those who have had run-ins with spirits from the great beyond. The returning series include T+E’s number one original series, Hotel Paranormal, which checks-in for a second installment following a hit first season narrated by Canadian icon, Dan Aykroyd. Finally, to keep up with the paranormal demand, "Haunted Hospitals," returns for a third installment to showcase tales of paranormal activity inside hospitals, nursing homes, and morgues.
"The Weather Files" will return to The Cottage Life as "Weather Files: Total Impact.” Each episode consists of true stories told by survivors of extreme weather disasters, followed by an in-depth scientific look at how these storms shape and impact the planet.
On Smithsonian Channel Canada, "Secret Cities" (Canadian Broadcast Premiere), reveals secrets that are hidden in plain sight, but once exposed, become a lens through which to view a city’s rich and illustrious history. “Impossible Repairs” (Canadian Broadcast Premiere), a series that follows host Mike Davidson though some of the most advanced engineering projects in the world, from hulking helicopters and monstrous trains to ships.
