The distributor will make the five-part series, produced by Peg Leg Films in association with British Columbia’s Knowledge Network, available for global licensing.

Blue Ant International has acquired global rights to "Search and Rescue: North Shore."“'Search and Rescue: North Shore' takes viewers on exhilarating, high stakes and emotional missions that shine a spotlight on a gutsy group of volunteer rescuers and the courageous lengths they take to save their fellow citizens in peril,” says Solange Attwood, EVP, Blue Ant International. “Audiences around the globe will be inspired by the human stories amid the strikingly beautiful, yet dangerous environment.”

The series, produced by Peg Leg Films, in association with British Columbia’s Knowledge Network is now accessible for international licensing via Blue Ant International. “People are surprised by how intimate the series is; you really feel like you’re part of the team. It has the mystery of unsolved missing-person cases and the excitement of long line helicopter rescues,” says Grant Baldwin, Director & DOP, Peg Leg Films. “Blue Ant International is an experienced partner to bring these human stories of courage to platforms around the world.” 

The five-part series showcases rescue missions of an elite volunteer rescue squad as they find and save people in distress among the rugged mountains, canyons, and forests of the Northwest Coast of North America. Through the lens of real rescues, audiences get to know some of the impassioned people who dedicate their time to saving lives. 

With more than 150 calls a year, membership on the crucial North Shore Rescue team has a heavy workload. The film took over  ayear to shoot, featuring cinematography of cases related to stranded hikers, lost children, and injured bike riders, among other occurances. Viewers become familiar with members of the team including Peter, who has been on the team for 25 years, Barry, a university professor who coordinates helicopter rescues, and Maria, a new recruit with a young family at home.
