Cineflix Rights has announced a raft of international deals for three leading titles from its slate of international dramas. The company sold “Manayek,” “The Minister” and “So Long, Marianne” across Israel, France, Germany, Australia, Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Canada, the UK, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Latvia, and Spain.

ARTE has bought Seasons 2 and 3 of Israeli thriller “Manayek” (20x60’, Yoav Gross Productions for Kan 11, Israel) for viewers in France and Germany, the story of a veteran Internal Affairs investigator who stumbles upon a police corruption case where the prime suspect is his best friend. As he digs deeper, the two veteran cops find themselves on opposite sides of the law—locked in a ruthless game of cat-and-mouse.

HBO Nordics and SBS (Australia) have acquired Seasons 1 and 2 of Icelandic political saga “The Minister” (Seasons 1 & 2, 16x60’, Sagafilm for RUV, Iceland, SVT, Sweden, NRK, Norway, DR, Denmark, YLE, Finland), starring Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” “Trapped,” “True Detective”) as Benedikt Ríkharðsson, the Icelandic Prime Minister whose medical condition threatens the stability of the government and the private lives of the team around him.

Tim Mutimer, CEO, Cineflix Rights said: “International dramas continue to resonate with global audiences, particularly those that feature universal themes but set in a different culture or offering an unusual perspective to viewers. We’re delighted to announce further sales of two of our successful returning series in ‘Manayek’ and ‘The Minister.’”

Moreover, the company announced further international sales for its drama series “So Long, Marianne” following its premieres in Norway, Canada, Germany, and the UK. Czech TV, ERR (Estonia), HRT (Croatia), and TET (Latvia) are the latest buyers for the series, following the deals recently announced with Telefonica’s pay TV platform Movistar Plus+ for Spain and Australia’s SBS.

“So Long, Marianne” tells the legendary love story of Canadian singer and poet Leonard Cohen, and an extraordinary Norwegian woman, Marianne Ihlen who inspired the titular song. It’s an intimate tale of two lonely people falling in love during a period of their life when they are trying to figure out who they are and their place in the world, while one is becoming one of the most famous singers of all time.

Lucy Rawson, VP, Sales, Africa, CEE, Middle East, and Southern Mediterranean, Cineflix Rights, who brokered the deals, commented: “‘So Long, Marianne’ is one of the most iconic love stories of the last century, set in one of the most beautiful locations in the world, and is getting rave reviews from the critics in all the territories it’s launched so far. I’m delighted to be announcing these latest deals across Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltics and looking forward to closing further sales at MIPCOM.”

“So Long, Marianne” is produced with the support of the Norwegian Film Institute, Creative Europe MEDIA, Nordisk Film & TV Fond, and Rogers Cable Network Fund.
