Disney Branded TV restructures unscripted and Non-Fiction content groups

Five executives were promoted to lead the three separate content teams, Disney Original Documentary, Disney Branded Television Unscripted, and Disney Branded Television Partnerships and Kids.

Disney Branded Television has restructured its unscripted and non-fiction staff into three separate content team, Disney Original Documentary, Disney Branded Television Unscripted, and Disney Branded Television Partnerships and Kids. The modifications include the promotion of five executives tasked with leading the operations, all of which are set to report to Marc Buhaj, VP of Unscripted and Nonfiction, under the leadership of Charlie Andrews as EVP of Live Action and Alternative Series.

The appointments includes Claire McCabe, who was promoted from VP of kids alternative programming to VP of the new Brand Partnerships and Kids unit. With more than two decades of executive production experience, covering live specials, documentaries, game shows, music specials and short-form content, the executive will work alongside Meghan de Boer, who will now serve as executive director on the same team. De Boer joined Disney in 2008 as a producer for the Disney/ABC Digital Studio, and was part of the Disney+ launch team, driving strategy for variety programming and specials. In her new role, she’ll create storytelling that leverages Disney IPs, and develop projects for young audiences.

Nicole Silveira, who also joined in 2019 as part of the Disney+ launch team, has been appointed VP of Disney Branded TelevisionUnscripted. She’ll be responsible for creating original unscripted content for a global audience. Silveira previously worked for Pilgrim Media Group and served as a development executive at ITV. She was also with NBCUniversal for nearly a decade, developing and launching The Sing-Off, Minute to Win It and Betty White’s Off Their Rockers.

Marjon Javadi, who also joined the company in 2019, has been named VP of Disney Documentary Films and Docuseries. She previously worked in funding at Doc Society and helped build the Netflix Originals documentary unit. In her new role, Javadi will work with filmmakers on real stories with aspirational and optimistic themes for Disney+. Lastly, Jordan Gilbert has been promoted from director of original programming to executive director of Disney Branded Television Unscripted.  His tasks include the creation of original unscripted content for Disney+..
