Endeavor Content has come on board to handle global sales for the upcoming series “Headhunters”, a co-production between Sweden’s C More and TV2 i Norway. The title is currently in production and will premiere in 2022. “We are very proud to extend C More’s investment in local drama productions to Norway, with a thrilling story based on the world-famous crime king’s work," Piodor Gustafsson, Director of Drama at C More and TV4 Media as well as executive producer for “Headhunters”, said.
Produced by Yellowbird Norway, the show will be put together by Eleonore Anselme and Alexia Kleen. Piodor Gustafsson is set to serve as executive producer at C More. "‘Headhunters’ is an incredible thriller based on Nesbø’s fan favorite novel and the BAFTA nominated feature. We are excited to bring the television adaptation of this hit film to the global audience," Prentiss Fraser, EVP, Television Distribution at Endeavor Content, said.
The series stars Axel Bøyum and Martin Wallström. Geir Henning Hopeland serves as director as well as co-writing the screenplay with Rolf-Magne G. Andersen. The series is set in Norway with filming currently underway. Endeavor Content will handle global sales outside the Nordics. “Headhunters” follows Roger Brown (Bøyum), a headhunter lying and manipulating his way to success both in his career and in his love life," Geir Henning Hopland said. "But one lie leads to another, and soon he is so entangled in his own stories that it becomes a danger to both himself and the people aroun him."
"Headhunters” is currently in production and will premiere in 2022.“When I was asked if I wanted to create a TV series of ‘Headhunters,’ I started off by reading the novel again. I was struck by the two-three pages," Hopland continued. "Where Roger meets Diana in London and that was when the idea was born to have the series set in 2002. 'Headhunters’ will be a series in true Jo Nesbø spirit – a fast-paced mix of dark humor and thrills.”
