ENTERTAINMENT ONE DISTRIBUTES “THE ROOKIE” TO MORE THAN 180 TERRITORIES

The announcement was made shortly after the series was renewed for a third season by ABC in the U.S and made recent new sales to WOWOW in Japan and TV 2 in Norway. It is a co-production with eOne and ABC Studios.

Entertainment One (eOne) recently announced its hit police drama, “The Rookie,” which was licensed to more than 180 territories worldwide with recent new sales to WOWOW in Japan and TV 2 in Norway. The announcement was made shortly after the series was renewed for a third season by ABC in the U.S. “The Rookie” is a co-production with eOne and ABC Studios, which is a part of Disney Television Studios, alongside 20th Century Fox Television and Fox 21 Television Studios.“As our industry navigates the current climate together, we are working even closer with our distribution partners all around the world to ensure they have the content they need, so that their schedules remain full and their audiences entertained during these unsettling times,” said Stuart Baxter, President, International Distribution at eOne. “We’re delighted ‘The Rookie’ has become a phenomenal success internationally delivering massive audiences all around the world that keeps on building with each new season.”

The primetime series stars Fillion as John Nolan, the oldest rookie in the LAPD, who has used his life experience, determination and sense of humor to keep up with rookies 20 years his junior. Nolan is constantly put to the test by a host of new challenges, romantic relationships, and deadly criminals, as he looks to figure out what kind of cop he ultimately wants to be. “The Rookie” also features Mekia Cox as Nyla Harper, Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez, Richard T. Jones as Sergeant Wade Grey, Titus Makin Jr. as Jackson West, Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen and Eric Winter as Tim Bradford for its cast. Season one and two include guest stars, Harold Perrineau (“Lost”) as Detective Nick Armstrong, Ali Larter as Dr. Grace Sawyer, Shawn Ashmore as Wesley Evers, Alan Tudyk as Ellroy Basso, Pete Davidson as Pete and cameos by will.i.am, Mario Lopez, among others. Alexi Hawley is a writer and executive producer for the show, Mark Gordon, Nathan Fillion, Michelle Chapman, Jon Steinberg, Bill Norcross, and Terence Paul Winter are executive producers on the series.

“The Rookie” recently hit a high L+3D audience of 9.1m, ranking #1 in the 10 pm time slot across all key demos. The S2 winter premiere, which took place on 23rd February, soared to 11.4m total viewers and 2.55rtg among A18-49 in 35D multi-platform viewing to mark the series’ biggest audience of the season. Internationally, the second season of “The Rookie” has recently hit record audiences across multiple territories including the UK, Spain, and Canada.  In the UK (Sky Witness) “The Rookie” won its biggest audience across both seasons to date with 917k in L+7D, ranking as the highest-rated show of the week across all Sky Channels.  In Spain “The Rookie” ranks as TNT’s #1 drama series for the year-to-date with audiences up +33% season-on-season.
