Entertainment One (eOne) has expanded its long-running partnership with The CW Network to make it the U.S. home for new series "The Spencer Series" and "Moonshine." The premiere dates for each series will be revealed at a later date.“We’re delighted to expand upon our long-standing relationship with The CW Network, which has and continues to be a terrific partner and the perfect US home for these compelling series to U.S. audiences,” Stuart Baxter, President, International Distribution, eOne, said.
The projects serve as a continuation of the collaboration between eOne and the CW Network. The companies previously worked on "Family Law," starring Jewel Staite and Victor Garber, which will return this summer for a second season, as well as the popular series, "Burden Of Truth," starring Kristin Kreuk. “We’re excited to bring these two entertaining series to The CW and expand our successful partnership with eOne,” Kevin Levy, Executive Vice President, Program Planning, Scheduling & Acquisitions at The CW, said.
"The Spencer Sisters" is a female-led, light-hearted procedural that follows mystery novelist Victoria Spencer and her daughter Darby Spencer, who are mistaken as sisters as they tackle puzzling cases. Joining the cast in supporting roles are Thomas Antony Olajide as Darby’s high school best friend and local cop Zane Graham; Edward Ruttle (ARCTIC AIR) as Darby’s high school flame Doctor Lucas Collins; Husein Madhavji as Victoria’s “IT Consultant” Alastair Dhumal; Ayesha Mansur Gonsalves as Victoria’s feisty literary agent Sarita Stark; Rodrigo Massa as Zane’s husband Antonio Pereira, who operates a Brazilian bistro; Kaitlyn Leeb (SPINNING OUT) as Lindsay Yip – a hotshot lawyer who is Lucas’ fiancée; and Adam Hurtig (Cult of Chucky) as the lead detective of the local police force. THE SPENCER SISTERS is produced by eOne and Buffalo Gal Pictures. The series is created by Alan McCullough and executive produced and co-showrun by McCullough and Jenn Engels. Created by Sheri Elwood, "Moonshine" is set against the backdrop of financial hardship, small town intrigue and a long-buried secret that threatens to annihilate the Finley-Cullens once and for all. Corrine Koslo and Peter MacNeill play Bea and Ken Finley-Cullen, the heads of the family and owners of The Moonshine, their own little slice of paradise that is starting to become a nightmare - if only they could decide which of their flawed brood is fit to take over the business. Jennifer Finnigan plays Lidia, an architect and the eldest sibling who wants to redevelop and exploit the valuable coastal property, giving her an opportunity to shine and overcome past disappointments, and Anastasia Phillips (REIGN) plays her often-overlooked younger sister Rhian, who sees The Moonshine as her own chance to rule. Other family members include Lidia’s sister Nora, the sexy local DJ, who knows all the family secrets and is played by Emma Hunter (MR. D, FRIDGE WARS); Alexander Nunez (AVOCADO TOAST) as Sammy, Lidia’s musically gifted adopted brother who holds secrets of his own; and Tom Stevens (WAYWARD PINES) as aging party boy Ryan, Rhian’s twin, who is running his own (illegal) business out of the resort. Allegra Fulton (The Shape of Water) plays Jill LeBlanc, an old family friend with some nefarious motives and secrets of her own.
In "Moonshine," Jonathan Silverman plays Daniel Bennett, Lidia’s husband and a star architect, suffering through his own mid-life crisis. Erin Darke plays Crystal Leblanc, Jill’s daughter and Ryan’s soulmate who’s the heart of their plans for gutter to the stars greatness. Farid Yazdani plays offbeat resort guest Colin Alpert whose true identity could complicate things for the Finley-Cullins. James Gilbert (SALVATION) plays Rhian’s husband Terry Gallagher, the local police officer trying not to get stuck in the middle of the Finley-Cullins’ madness. The series is produced by Six Eleven Media and eOne. Elwood also serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Six Eleven Media’s Charles Bishop. Jocelyn Hamilton is executive producer for eOne.
