Filmedia distributes diverse content for broadcasters in Italy and Spain and since 2010 the company reppresents ORF, the Austrian Pubblic Broadcaster as exclusive for Italy, Spain and Switzerland. “We have been consolidating in Italy for 10 years and we have much between factual productions and fiction series,” explained Filippo Ubaldini CEO of Filmedia to Señal News. “We’ve been working quite well in these past years but we found neccessary also to understand what is going on in other territories aside the typical commercial issue and see if there are any opportunities,” affimed.
As ORF’s highlights, Filmedia offers new series. “On the fiction side we have the dramey show 'Walking on Sunshine' which is fun, engaging and some spice as well,” said. “It is a nice series for 35-44 target that could be 50-50 male and female.” completed
Other Filmedia highlight is the new season of “Suburbia - Women on the Edge”. “We launched the series and pushed quite a lot in Italy and now we see two expressions of interest and we are currently discussing about it and deciding which of the two stations is more likeable for the series,” commented.
DO THE DIFFERENCE
“We have a very straightfoward proposition”, affirmed Ubaldini. “We have divided the catalogue in two macro zones, one is the factual brands among the best five producers of wildlife in the world so that’s a very distinctive positioning for anyone who comes and approaches us,” asserted. “The other is series and TV movies, we don’t have a long catalogue but it has very good personality, we have the capacity to keep on going producing year and year flashing out 10 to 12 episodes per year, that gives to our clients the guarantee of continuity and gives a certainty of commitement.”
STRONG POSITION IN ITALY
“Italy is in an interesting situation because of the new macro positions with Disney FOX and also Sky by Comcast. it’s going to be a year where we need to stay very close to our clients and understand how they are moving and suport them as much as possible and be very versatile as well,” anticipated the executive “Their needs will change, we feel that what they are asking now will probably change in a few months so that’s why we are calling them moving targets.” Added.
