Independent production company Finite Films & TV announced the opening of its new base in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in line with its expanding international slate. The company has also announced a new psychological horror, "The Fears," in development from "Doctor Who" director Andrew Gunn.

"The Fears," written and directed by seasoned visual drama director Andrew Gunn ("Life on Mars," "Survivors," "Primeval") tells the story of an oppressive Immigration Detention Centre that becomes infected with a mysterious illness causing mass hysteria. Callie, an interpreter, must protect the wellbeing of Mina, who is a newly arrived orphan, as well as find her way back to her three-year-old daughter at the other side of the facility before it’s too late. At its core, "The Fears" embraces the social delusions, cultural anxieties and hysterical outbreaks that reflect the fears and neuroses of our increasingly fearful world.
Finite Films & TV is expanding its presence in Ireland’s production industry with a new Belfast base. As Belfast’s film industry continues to develop as a global creative hub, particularly with recent investment in its industry and the opening of the Studio Ulster virtual production space earlier this year, Finite Films & TV is well positioned to contribute to its thriving industry.
Finite Films & TV founder Amy Gardner was executive producer on the apocalyptic musical feature "The End" directed by Joshua Oppenheimer and starring Tilda Swinton, George MacKay and Stephen Graham and Brides from Nadia Fall, which premiered at Sundance earlier this year and will be theatrically released in September by Vue Lumière in Uk & Ireland. Gardner was also executive producer on Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor ‘s debut feature Dreamers, which premiered at Berlinale this year, as well as titles currently in production in Ireland including Grant Gee’s Everybody Digs Bills Evans and Jim O’Hanlon’s Rabbit Hayes.
Other executive produced credits include this year Cannes Great8 selection "Learning to Breath Under Water," directed by Rebekah Fortune. Gardner has produced a roster of acclaimed feature films, including "Honeytrap," "And Then Come the Nightjars," and "My House." Her work also spans innovative formats, from the online play "Good Grief" to theatre productions including "Nuclear Children" and "The Joy of Text."
