Keshet International has signed a multi-year first-look agreement with Sony Pictures Television, giving Sony exclusive first-look rights to develop and produce English-language adaptations of scripted titles from Keshet’s extensive global catalog. The agreement also includes original scripted series developed jointly by Sony Pictures Television and Keshet Studios, Keshet’s U.S.-based production division.
“Keshet has built an impressive reputation for innovative programming and compelling narratives through their creative vision and international reach,” said Katherine Pope, President of Sony Pictures Television Studios. “We’re thrilled to partner with Avi, Keren, Peter, and their teams, who consistently deliver top-tier global content, and we're especially excited to have the incredible Dana Fox join our first project with them.”
“Keshet and Sony are both known for high-quality, bold, and distinctive content,” added Keren Shahar, CEO of Keshet International. “As like-minded independent companies, we share a creative vision and a genuine passion for developing ideas that resonate with audiences worldwide. Partnering with Katherine and the talented team at Sony feels like the perfect fit and a natural next step for Keshet Studios.”
Peter Traugott, President of Keshet Studios, emphasized the creative synergy: “Teaming up with Katherine and everyone at Sony Pictures Television marks a compelling new chapter for Keshet Studios. Working with Sony’s exceptional drama and comedy teams has already been an inspiring creative collaboration, and we’re particularly excited about our first project with Dana Fox.”
The first project under the new pact is the U.S. adaptation of the Keshet 12 Israeli comedy hit "Save the Date," with Dana Fox ("Wicked: Part One," "Wicked: For Good") attached as showrunner. Fox, who recently inked her own overall deal with Sony Pictures Television, is also overseeing a TV adaptation of the board game "Clue" for the studio.
"Save the Date" follows Dassy, a successful wedding planner who becomes unexpectedly single. When a love spell cast by her grandmother misfires, Dassy finds herself navigating four potential romances from her past and present. The original Israeli version stars Tomer Capone ("The Boys," "When Heroes Fly") and Adi Havshush ("Daddy Issues," "Sirens"), and was the highest-rated drama of 2024 in Israel. Produced by Tedy Productions with Reisdor and created by Ori Gross, Yoav Tsafir, Tmira Yardeni, Tamara Salem, and Tamar Marom, the show has been renewed for a second season by Keshet 12, Israel’s leading network.
Keshet International has built a strong global profile with high-quality storytelling and international adaptations. Since launching Keshet Studios in 2014, the company has developed acclaimed projects for American and global audiences, often leveraging collaborations with Israeli creators. Past U.S. productions include NBC’s "La Brea," ABC’s "The Baker and The Beauty," NBC’s "The Brave," and CBS’s "Wisdom of the Crowd," all developed in partnership with Universal Television under a decade-long first-look deal.
In addition to these, Keshet Studios has produced projects such as "Echo 3" for Apple TV, "Our Boys" for HBO, "Dead Girls Detective Agency" on Snapchat, and the award-winning "A Small Light" for National Geographic and Disney+. The studio is also behind the political thriller "Tatami," directed by Guy Nattiv and Zar Amir Ebrahimi.
Represented by WME, Keshet International and Keshet Studios continue expanding their global presence with premium storytelling and strategic partnerships that appeal to international audiences.
