Kwanza taps ex ZED alum Lucy Le Gruiec as Head of Distribution and Acquisitions

Le Gruiec will be responsible for maximizing the value of Kwanza’s catalogue worldwide, spans the entire factual genre including history, technology, science, nature and wildlife, travel, adventure.

French factual producer and distributor Kwanza, led by Benjamin Ternynck, has appointed former ZED Sales Manager Lucy Le Gruiec as Head of Distribution & Acquisitions. She will be responsible for maximizing the value of Kwanza’s catalogue worldwide, spans the entire factual genre including history, technology, science, nature and wildlife, travel, adventure.

Benjamin Ternynck commented: "We are delighted to welcome Lucy. Her extensive track record and comprehensive insight into the global content market will be an asset for Kwanza as we look to continue our growth trajectory in the future."

Le Gruiec has a background in content distribution of almost 15 years. In her previous position at ZED, she played an active role in putting together financing for ambitious films and documentary series through international pre-sales. Lucy also previously worked with 100% Distribution, Novavision, Gaumont. "I am thrilled to join Kwanza, the diversity of the catalogue enables us to tap all markets, in a constantly changing landscape it is very exciting," she added.

With a catalogue of over 700 hours, Kwanza represents over 40 producers internationally, including an exclusive distribution agreement with RMC Production. This year, the company is launching several new titles in 2024 including "Machu Pichu City of Stone" (52’), as part of its collection Ancient Builders (25 episodes), a brand-new series "The Pharaohs: Greater than the Pyramids" (6x45’) which delves deep into the life of Pharaohs with a focus on 6 of the greatest names, along with anniversary titles for the coming year "Inside D-Day: Filmmakers on The Frontline" (52’) and "Eurostar Minding The Gap" (52’).
