Christian Rank
As the Nordic production house increases its international drama development and productions, Miso Film appointed Christian Rank as Head of Development & Producer with clear ambitions to grow and expand the company and to strengthen its creative profile and continuous growth in the Nordics. Starting August 2022, Rank will have a view across local and global productions, working on the development and production of scripted projects for Miso Film, bringing in valuable IP and building a strong roster of creative talent.
Christian Rank graduated from The Danish Film School in 2005 and has since left a lasting legacy on Danish fiction. He was behind TV 2 series such as “Rita,” “Norskov,” “Warrior” and “Lucky Per” along with “Lykke” and “The Legacy” at DR. As Head of Drama at DR, he was responsible for productions such as “When The Dust Settles,” “Cry Wolf,” “Doggystyle,” “Julefeber” and the latest season of “Borgen.”
“The decision to hire Christian is an important step in accomplishing Miso Film’s ambition of growing the company’s profile and fulfilling its huge market potential. The market has developed rapidly for several years, where streaming services and TV stations have increased the level of local content considerably. At the same time, the demands are higher than ever. Not everything performs well for the services, so there’s an increased focus on quality, originality, and consistency from both streaming services and TV stations. Christian will strengthen our market position, and we are excited to benefit from his experience and highly professional competencies,” said Peter Bose, CEO & Producer of the Miso Film Group.
“The film and TV market is undergoing great changes and that places tough requirements on production companies. Miso Film is among the strongest and most ambitious production companies in Scandinavia, and their future goal of developing both local and international productions is both attractive and ambitious. I am excited for the strategic work and to create quality productions with my new colleagues at Miso Film, and not the least to work with the creatives in the industry, who are vital to our work,” Christian Rank added.
Miso Film was founded in 2004 by Jonas Allen and Peter Bose. The company has produced an extensive slate of acclaimed films and TV-series. Among the latest productions are “Lust” on HBO Max, Ole Bornedal’s feature film “The Bombardment,” and the TV-series “The Investigation.” The filming of the third season of Christoffer Boe’s “Face To Face” has just finalized, and right now, Miso Film is shooting the third season of “Those Who Kill.”
