ARRI Media International is a department of the worldwide established ARRI Group and operates as an international sales agent for feature films. The company has three main genre focus: Family Entertainment (Live Action & Full Animation), Dramas (Prestigious Festival Contenders) and Genre (Horror, Thriller, Action And Sci-Fi).

ARRI Media International has the aim to team up with producers on film projects that are already in the financing phase, that is on script basis, to not only participate as an international distributor but also offer the possibility of co-producing through ARRI Media Productions.

“We invest on those projects in cash not with equipment or post production and then in exchange, we ask for international distribution rights, so when we pick up a project we bring it to the festivals for the world premiere and we promote and do marketing and sales for those feature flms in festivals and film markets,” said Moritz Hemminger, Deputy Head of Sales & Acquisitions at ARRI Media to Señal News.

INTERNATIONAL MARKETS

ARRI Media International always attends Amercian Film Market (AFM) in Los Angeles. “It is a very good market but it's more commercial oriented for our family movies”, explained Hemminger.

This year the company also participated in MIA Market, in Rome. “We figured out that there are a lot art house distributors, independent distributors from all of the world, so its makes sense to present our dramas in the Italian market,”, added. Also, ARRI Media International offers the film “SIN” (“Il Peccato”) from Andrei Konchalovskys. “It’s an italian coproduction with RAI,” commented.

ARRI Media International acquires films from all over the world. “We are looking for projects with quality and they have to be unique and special,” asserted the executive. “It’s all about the story and the creative vision of the director, it’s not about the shooting language or the country of origin, we are really looking for projects from all over the world and we talk with filmakers and producers in Latin America but also in Asia, Europe or US,” completed.
