Carmen Salinas & Adriana Barraza
Onza Americas and Palomera Group announced a strategic partnership to co-produce a range of fiction and entertainment projects, expanding their offerings for the Latin American market and the U.S. Hispanic audience.
This partnership includes a “first look deal” that gives Onza Americas priority access to Palomera Group’s future projects, creating new opportunities for innovative content and business models. Onza Americas will also draw on Palomera Group's talent pool for its upcoming productions, fostering closer collaboration and greater visibility for Hispanic talent within Palomera Group’s network.
Carlos Garde, Managing Director of Onza, expressed his enthusiasm: "We are thrilled to announce this agreement with a great company in the region like Palomera Group. At Onza, we always aim to work with the best talent, both in front of and behind the camera. This first-look deal on all of Palomera’s audiovisual projects will allow us to bring to life characters and stories of great relevance in Latin America and the United States, in both fiction and non-fiction," he commented.
As the first step in this collaboration, both companies are already working on a series that will address the life of iconic Mexican actress, singer, producer, and public figure Carmen Salinas. This ambitious project will unveil previously unknown aspects of Carmen Salinas' life, one of the most influential figures in entertainment in Mexico and throughout Latin America, exploring her life both on and off the stage. The series will feature renowned actress Adriana Barraza (Babel, Blue Beetle, The Last Wagon) in the lead role.
Harvey Grisalez, SVP of Onza Americas, emphasizes that this is just the beginning of a process: "I firmly believe that strategic partnerships are crucial to navigating the market we are in. And when those partnerships involve collaborating with great professionals like Alejandra and Julio, the possibilities are endless, both professionally and personally. Soon, we will be announcing more joint projects that will undoubtedly be very successful," he commented.
Onza Americas, known for its business models, was founded in 2021 as a subsidiary of the Spanish company Onza. With headquarters in Miami and Los Angeles, its first series, Isla Brava, became the most-watched program on the streaming platform ViX during its first few weeks and was widely praised for its script and production quality. Following the success of the first season, the team is currently in post-production on the second installment.
With its business model focused on co-producing with creators and adapting content to consumption trends, Onza Americas continues to seek opportunities to innovate and expand in the market, bringing its vision and expertise to joint projects with leading companies in the region, such as Palomera Group.
Alejandra Palomera, CEO of Palomera Group, commented on the agreement:"We are more than happy to partner with a company that shares the same standards of quality, professionalism, values, and goals as Palomera Group. Without a doubt, it’s a great achievement to consolidate this partnership with Onza Americas, where we will be able to make many dreams come true for those who have trusted both of us. Together with Harvey and Carlos, we will open job opportunities, international business, and bridge cultures with the upcoming projects," she noted.
Meanwhile, Julio César Palomera, COO of Palomera Group, outlined the company’s strategy:"For Palomera Group, forging an alliance with a prestigious international company like Onza Americas is a crucial step forward. With the support of outstanding professionals in the industry like Carlos, Harvey, and their team, we will take our content projects to new horizons, further strengthening the projection of our talent," he explained.
Founded in 2001 by Alejandra and Julio César Palomera in the U.S., Palomera Group is a leading talent agency in the entertainment industry. It has promoted artists across various disciplines and created original content, establishing itself as a key player. The agency expanded with offices in Mexico and Los Angeles, collaborating with major networks like Televisa, Telemundo, Netflix, and Disney, promoting Hispanic talent internationally.
This agreement marks a significant milestone in Spanish-language content production and represents a new chapter in the journey of both companies, which seek to meet the growing demand for content among Hispanic and Latin American audiences worldwide. The series about Carmen Salinas is just the beginning of an alliance that promises to revolutionize entertainment in the region.
