Rainbow Group’s animation expert, Iginio Straffi has revealed details about CGI animated show “Pinocchio and Friends,” set to debut during the 4th quarter of 2021. “Pinocchio is the best-loved Italian character ever created in our fairy tale literature, and the Rainbow Group’s roots are here in Italy," Iginio Straffi, Founder and CEO of Rainbow Group, said. "Throughout my career, I have been waiting for the right moment to bring this concept to light with the attention to detail and quality it deserves."

After executing worldwide collaborations with “Winx Club” and “44 Cats,” among others, the show is currently capturing the attention of major broadcasters and pubcasters around the world. The 26 x 12-minute show is expected to hit the small screen by the end of next year.

Inspired by Carlo Collodi’s original “The Adventures of Pinocchio,” the show was made to be heard from the perspective of a child. It is a mix of a classic fairy tale and modern life, with a  touch of magic, showing viewers a world full of smartphones in a world full of humor and adventure. Characters from the original story will now work alongside new ones.

In this modern version of Pinocchio, a puppet lives with Grandpa, Geppetto, and Freeda. Amid his dreams about becoming a real boy, he takes the advice of a blue-haired fairy.  “Now that I have my chance, I won’t hesitate to reveal a contemporary Pinocchio who speaks to children in a light-hearted, educational show that empowers their dreams,” Straffi said. “Families will love this compelling series and kids will find their new TV hero in Pinocchio."
