Realscreen announced its collaboration with Partners in Kind, a media and production company specializing in social impact in entertainment, to offer a US$20,000 development deal at the Summit Showdown, a live pitch competition taking place on Monday, February 3rd during Realscreen Summit 2025 at the InterContinental Miami.
Aligning with this year’s theme — Pitch for Good — Summit Showdown offers producers and content creators the opportunity to pitch a new, not yet commissioned unscripted/non-fiction feature-length film or TV series designed to create measurable social impact, that are grounded in innovation and untold perspectives of lived experiences. Subject matter includes (but is not limited to): climate change/environmental advocacy, social justice, mental health/wellness, marginalized voices, women’s voices — stories that inspire greater awareness and resonate with audiences worldwide.
Mary Maddever, EVP, Realscreen and Executive Content Director, NATPE Global emphasizes the need to give access to more voices: “Pitch for Good realizes a Realscreen goal of partnering on initiatives like this, that create funding opportunities for purpose-led programming. We’re honored to be collaborating with Partners in Kind, whose support will extend access to more voices and bring profile to important projects through their network," commented.
Meanwhile, Gillian Hormel and Shelly Tygielski, Co-Founders of Partners in Kind They estimated that this initiative helps highlight projects that usually go unnoticed: “We are thrilled to sponsor Realscreen's Summit Showdown - a Pitch for Good! - this year, as it provides a unique platform to highlight social impact projects that often go under the radar. By supporting this event, we hope to amplify the voices of creators dedicated to making a difference and help bring much-needed attention and funding to stories that truly matter," added.
Five finalists will be selected to attend Realscreen Summit, where they will pitch their projects in a five-minute, timed presentation to an esteemed panel of judges for a chance to win the $20,000 development deal from Partners in Kind. For the first time, all finalists will receive complimentary registration to the Summit, along with three nights of accommodation at the Intercontinental Miami. Each pitch will include relevant presentation materials, followed by feedback and questions from the judges, with the winning project receiving the development deal to bring their story to life.
Realscreen Summit will take place February 3-5, followed by NATPE Global which will run February 5-7, with February 5 serving as a crossover day bridging the two events.
