Silverlining Rights has announced a further six international funding partners for Emporium Productions’ fast turnaround documentary exploring the Singapore Airlines air turbulence disaster and the safety implications for future air travellers. The programme launched recently in the UK on ITV.

The latest broadcasters to join the project are Movistar (Spain), TV2 (Norway), TVNZ (New Zealand), Servus TV (Austria), CNN (Portugal) and HOT8 (Israel). They join the nine previous funding partners: ITV (UK), Seven (Australia), WELT (Germany), TV4 (Sweden), MTV (Finland), TV2 (Denmark), RTL (Netherlands), DPG (Belgium), RTS (Switzerland).

"Turbulence: How Safe Is Your Flight?" (1x60’) uses a dramatic minute-by-minute analysis of flight SQ321 to examine the science of turbulence - exploring its causes, effects, and implications, what pilots can do to avoid it and whether this is a phenomenon that is getting worse as a result of climate change. Featuring exclusive interviews with passengers, pilots and air crew, and aviation and climate scientists, together with cutting edge flight simulations and user generated content, the documentary provides the definitive account of how pilots and aircraft deal with mid-flight challenges caused by turbulence, and how passengers can take precautions to make their flight experiences as safe as possible.

Bethan Corney, founder and MD, Silverlining assured that it is a highly in-demand title globally: "We have seen a huge amount of demand from broadcasters around the world for 'Turbulence: How Safe Is Your Flight?' which taps into the continuing fascination about the events which took place on that day, and several other instances of turbulence since then. It’s an eye-opening and informative documentary providing viewers with the definitive, minute-by-minute account of what happened to flight SQ321 as well as advice on how to minimise the risk of injuries in similar circumstances," commented.
