SkyShowtime announced that its Original series “Veronika,” has been renewed for a second season and will return to screens in 2025. This is SkyShowtime’s first original series recommission. Lead actor and Executive Producer Alexandra Rapaport (“Veronika,” “Gåsmamman,” “Honour”) returns as police officer Veronika Gren, and Tobias Santelmann (“Veronika,” “Exit,” “The Arctic Convoy”) reprises his role as her husband Tomas. Arvin Kananian, Eddie Eriksson Dominguez and Sarah Rhodin will also return for the new season.
Season one of “Veronika” won over audiences with its crime thriller story about the murder of two teenage girls and police officer Veronika Gren (Alexandra Rapaport), a mother of two who struggling with a complicated family life and a secret pill addiction, who finds herself in a murder investigation that goes deeper than anyone in town would like to believe. The new season continues to follow Veronika, who is still struggling with the ghosts of her past and her mysterious visions. She's impatient to return to her regular post in the police and wishes for things to go back to normal. As the series unfolds, she finds herself in the middle of a dark and perplexing murder mystery, rooting back 60 years in time. As Veronika is torn between the world of living and the dead, her facade begins to crack. An inevitable chain of events puts everything she’s worked to rebuild at risk.

“Veronika” season two is created and scripted by Katja Juras and Anna Ströman Lindblom (“Veronika,” “Gåsmamman”) and will be directed by Academy Award nominated Mikael Håfström (“Evil,” “Derailed”). “Veronika” is produced by Calle Jansson and Mathias Gruffman at Bigster, alongside Alexandra Rapaport as Executive Producer.
