Fremantle has signed a drama package deal with Spanish VOD platform Filmin. The agreement includes some of the company’s headline scripted titles of the year, including Swedish filmmaker Tomas Alfredson’s (“Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”) modern adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s steamy infidelity drama “Faithless,” and BAFTA-winning actress Rebecca Hall’s thriller “The Listeners” coming to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this November. Both series recently premiered in competition at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival to high acclaim.

The deal also includes Victor Levin’s honest portrayal of love, “Alice & Jack,” directed by Juho Kuosmanen (of Golden Globe-nominated and Cannes fame for “Compartment Number 6”); crime thriller “Herrhausen – The Banker and the Bomb” (Series Mania 2024 winner for Best Script and Filmfest München winner: Bernd Burgemeister producers award); and the Audience Award winner at Series Mania 2023, “Little Bird,” which tackles the Canadian government policy known as the Sixties Scoop.

Jaume Ripoll, Filmin’s Head of Content and Editorial Director, said: “We’re deeply honoured to add such high-quality titles to our eclectic catalogue, which blends A-list actors and directors with independent productions of great merit. Spanish audiences will be captivated by what’s coming next; these are all destined for success.”

“It’s fantastic to be partnering with Filmin to bring our highly anticipated, cutting-edge dramas to Spain” said Al de Azpiazu, SVP, French Speaking Europe, Italy, Spain & Portugal, International, Fremantle. “These new, diverse and captivating stories come from some of the most talented teams around the world and will be a great addition to their premium content lineup.”

The story of “Faithless” produced by Fremantle’s Miso Film is a searing tale of love, passion, and betrayal. A love triangle told across two time periods. In present day, the renowned director David Howard, 73, is reunited with his former great love, actress Marianne Vogler, 75. Their encounter forces them to confront the painful consequences of their past relationship, not only for themselves but also for their families. Forty years prior a young David and Marianne find themselves entwined in a passionate love affair, which they must keep a secret as Marianne is married to David’s best friend, Markus.

“The Listeners” is a provocative psychological thriller from Normal People producer Element Pictures. Based on an internationally acclaimed novel by Jordan Tannahill and directed by Janicza Bravo, the series follows a mother, played by the Vicky Cristina Barcelona actress Rebecca Hall. Tormented by a sound it seems no-one else can hear and increasingly isolated from her family, she forms an unlikely bond with one of her students and is drawn towards a strange community who can also hear the hum.

“Alice & Jack” is a love story starring Andrea Riseborough and Domhnall Gleeson, created and written by Golden Globe winner Victor Levin (Mad About You, Mad Men). It is a Fremantle production in partnership with BAFTA and Emmy-winning Me + You Productions, Academy Award-nominated Groundswell Productions and De Maio Entertainment. When Alice (Riseborough) and Jack (Gleeson) first meet they’re bound by a connection so powerful it seems nothing can break it, but will their path lead them to a place of happiness and togetherness? Or will life and their own emotional complexities get in the way? Honest, intimate, and surprisingly funny, the series shows love in all its unexpected, technicolour, kaleidoscopic beauty.

“Herrhausen – The Banker and the Bomb” is a Cold War thriller starring Oliver Masucci that retells the explosive true story of the brutal assassination of visionary German banker, Alfred Herrhausen. The series is produced by Sperl Film- und Fernsehproduktion in cooperation with X-Filme Creative Pool, with Beside Tax Shelter + Productions, Avriofilms and EKOME Fund. Despite a growing number of enemies and a target on his back, CEO of Deutsche Bank, Alfred Herrhausen has a vision to provide debt relief to the world’s poorest countries and broker a government-backed billion-dollar loan to the nearly bankrupt Soviet Union. By helping Gorbatchov he and Chancellor Kohl pursue the plan to bring the wall down, Herrhausen wants to open up new markets with NATO’s biggest enemy. With the CIA, KGB, East Berlin and the RAF all watching his every move, the clock is ticking towards the banker’s own tragic downfall.

Finally, “Little Bird,” inspired by true events, is a poignant limited series about an Indigenous woman on a journey to find her birth family and uncover the hidden truth of her past. Her quest lands her in the Canadian prairies where she discovers that she was one of the generation of children forcibly apprehended by the Canadian government through a policy, later coined the Sixties Scoop. “Little Bird” is a co-production from Crave and APTN, produced by Rezolution Pictures and OP Little Bird.
