Movistar Plus+ will soon debut the new original series, "La Mesías," created by Spanish executives, Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, based in Madrid. "It has been almost a year and a half of very intense work. Of documentation, research, writing, making an in-depth study of the issues we want to address," Ambrossi said. "I couldn't be happier to be sharing with the world today this series that has found its home on Movistar Plus+."

The original series was created in collaboration with Suma Content, written, directed, and produced by Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo. Movistar Plus+ International will be handling the international sales of the series. Ambrossi and Calvo join a creative group, which includes Alejandro Amenábar, Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Anna R. Costa, Alberto Rodríguez, and Leticia Dolera. "We want to go a step further than we did in 'Veneno', by creating an almost apocalyptic family drama and delving once again into faith, but from a darker and more painful place," Javier Calvo said regarding the company's goal for the series.

"Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi are exceptional creators, with a unique, personal, and universal perspective," Domingo Corral, fiction director at Movistar Plus+, said. "Movistar Plus+ is a Spanish platform that supports the best creative talent in Spain. We are now fortunate to be able to work with Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, who will undoubtedly help us tell the stories we want to create”.

'La Mesías' is a family thriller that deals with overcoming trauma, faith as a tool to fill the void, and art as the only escape from terror. The viral video of a Christian pop music group made up of five sisters impacts the life of Enric, a man tormented by a childhood shaped by religious fanaticism and the yoke of a mother with messianic delusions.
