The European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs announced its selection for the 2024 EAVE Puentes

This training program for European-Latin American co-production will bring together a talented groüup of 15 film professionals to develop their projects, careers, company structures and co-production skills with top-notch industry experts over one year and two workshops.

EAVE, the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs, announced the selection of participants for the 2024 edition of EAVE Puentes. This training program for European-Latin American co-production will bring together a talented groüup of 15 film professionals to develop their projects, careers, company structures and co-production skills with top-notch industry experts over one year and two workshops.

The first session of Puentes will take place in the city of Udine, Italy, from July 15-21, and is made possible through a strong partnership between EAVE, FVG Audiovisual Fund, and MiC. In parallel to the main Puentes workshop, an additional local group of 11 Italian fiction and documentary producers, as well as other film professionals interested in collaborating with Latin America, will participate in PUENTES ITALIA from July 16 – 19.

The Puentes pedagogical team includes Head of Studies Fernanda del Nido (Setembro Cine, AR/ES), group leader Sophie Erbs (Gaijin, FR), script consultant Jacques Akchoti (FR), and producer Agustina Chiarino (Bocacha Films, UY). They will be joined by Tatiana Leite (Bubbles Project, BR), Raquel Cabrera (The Film Agency, ES), Marcin Łuczaj (New Europe Film Sales, PL), Aleksandra Zakharchenko (Marché du Film, FR) and Alessandro Amato (dispàrte, IT).

The programme will consist of plenary sessions, company planning sessions, case studies, consultations on marketing and sales strategies, group work, individual meetings and networking sessions. A special networking session, "My Country at a Glance," will aim to build strong bridges between the international and local groups during both workshops.

The 15th edition of Puentes will culminate with a second workshop in Montevideo (Uruguay), in November 25 – December 2 (TBC), in partnership with Bocacha Films. Following this final week of the workshop, the 2024 participants will attend VENTANA SUR (dates TBC) thanks to the partnership between EAVE and the Marché du Film. Additionally, a special workshop for Uruguayan participants will be held during the second week of the workshop.

The 15 selected participants and the 10 projects that will be developed during one year are as follows: Mayra Auad from Mymama Entertainment, Brazil, with the project "Beyond Rights"; Flavia Biurrun from Saga Film, Belgium/Uruguay; Jonathan Bouzali Dayan from Phototaxia Pictures & KUTER, Mexico/Portugal/Argentina, with the project "Cosplay"; Irene Cadavid Mancera from Urban Sales - Reservoir Docs, France; Michael Henrichs from Die Gesellschaft DGS, Germany, with the project "Tokyo Por Siempre"; Julieta Juncadella from Vitrine Filmes (ES), Una Presencia (AR), Spain/Argentina, with the project "Inside the Noise"; Joanna Lombardi from El árbol Azul, Peru, with the project "Vultures"; Camila Molina from Color Monster, Bolivia, with the project "My Kingdom in This World"; Natália Pavlove from Other Stories, Slovakia/Czech Republic; Mariana Pineda from Pororó Films, Paraguay, with the project "Falopia"; Radu Stancu from deFilm, Romania, with the project "El Dorado"; Murielle Thierrin from Aldabra Films, France/French Guiana; Mirlanda Torres from La Selva Cine, Colombia, with the project "The Year of Noise"; Angelo Rocco Troiano from Mediterraneo Cinematografica, Italy, with the project "The Wind's Cave"; and Alberto Valverde from ECAM, Spain.

Additionally, 9 Italian professionals have been selected for Puentes Italia. Three of them are bringing a documentary project in development to the workshop, three are working on a fiction feature, and four are focusing on exploring the opportunities of working with Latin America. These professionals include Lara Calligaro from Lume, with the fiction film project "Brotherhood Grand Prix"; Giulia Campagna from ZaLab; Luigi Antonio Conte from Rizoma Film; Camila Gazzola from Amartia Film; Jakob Krese from Zero Stress Production, with the documentary feature "Caravaneras"; Giacomo Lamborizio from Ring Film; Ilaria Malagutti from Mammut Film, with the documentary feature "El Hombre Necesario"; Filippo Schiaffino from Onira, with the fiction film "Foreign Skies"; and Emiliano Trovati from Fase 3, with the creative documentary "Myra".
