Leading independent distributor All3Media International has announced new milestones for IDTV’s global format phenomenon, "The Traitors." The show has now been commissioned in 30 territories, including newly announced deals in Ukraine and Mongolia. More than 35 adaptations have been greenlit, and episodes of "The Traitors" have been broadcast in over 50 territories through tape sales. For example, the UK has acquired the Australian, New Zealand, and U.S. editions. "The Traitors" was created and developed by IDTV in cooperation with RTL Creative Unit.

In Ukraine, streaming platform Sweet TV has commissioned and will produce a local version of the format. Meanwhile, in Mongolia, "The Traitors" has been acquired by Hulegu Distribution for production and broadcast on leading free TV channel EduTV, as well as IPTV Univision and OTT LookTv. The Mongolian adaptation marks the format’s second commission in Asia, following an upcoming Indian version set to launch on Prime Video.

Since its debut on RTL 4 in the Netherlands in 2021, IDTV’s psychological reality competition has seen a remarkable rise, evolving into a global phenomenon. With its addictive gameplay—centered around treachery, deceit, and betrayal—the show has captivated audiences worldwide, leading to adaptations across Europe, North America, Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Multiple returning series and companion shows have also been commissioned.

The success of "The Traitors" extends beyond format sales, as tape sales demonstrate the brand’s global appeal. Numerous versions have been acquired across six continents, with Canada’s Bell Media licensing five international adaptations, including RTL’s Hungarian version (produced by Paprika Studios). Additionally, Australia, the U.S., the UK, and Canada have all acquired the New Zealand version, which won an Asian Academy Creative Award and was produced by South Pacific Pictures.

Louise Pedersen, CEO at All3Media International celebrated the international success of the title:“We are delighted to share that 'The Traitors' has reached these milestones, with 30 territories bringing local format versions to screen, over 35 adaptations commissioned, and more than 50 territories broadcasting episodes via tape sales. The show’s rapid global expansion would not have been possible without our brilliant production and broadcast partners—congratulations to all! Beyond the screen, 'The Traitors' continues to thrive with a licensing program that includes award-winning games, bestselling books, and the highly anticipated Immersive Experience." commented.
