United Group BV (“UG”), the leading telecommunications and media provider in Southeastern Europe and majority-owned by international investment firm BC Partners, has announced key leadership changes as the company strategically refocuses on European Union markets.

Stan Miller has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, while Libor Voncina will assume the role of Deputy CEO. Both executives bring decades of industry experience and a proven track record in the European telecommunications and media sectors. As part of this transition, Founder Dragan Šolak and current CEO Victoriya Boklag will step down from their roles.

These appointments follow United Group’s strategic divestment of its non-EU telecom operations earlier in 2025. This included the sale of SBB to E& PPF and the sale of Net TV Plus, along with its sports broadcasting rights in the Western Balkans, to Telekom Srbija. The combined enterprise value of these transactions was €1.5 billion, reflecting the premium and strategic value of the assets sold. Following these divestments, United Group now serves over 40 million customers across its core EU markets, generating approximately €3 billion in revenue and €1 billion in EBITDAaL, solidifying its position as a major player in the region.

Stan Miller brings more than 30 years of experience in the telecom and media industries. His previous roles include CEO of KPN Mobile and Board Member of Royal KPN. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated consistent success in driving growth and creating value in diverse and dynamic markets across Europe and beyond. Libor Voncina, now Deputy CEO, also has an extensive background in the sector, having served as CEO of Telecom Slovenia, KPN Mobile International, and Sunrise Communications, where he led a successful IPO on the Swiss Stock Exchange.

Nikos Stathopoulos, Chairman, Europe at BC Partners, explained the deal in terms of the strategy: “In our six-year partnership with United Group, we have worked closely with Dragan and the team to quadruple the size of the business and transform it from a regional operator into a major European platform with a strong EU presence. Following our strategic exit from non-EU operations, UG is now a focused and leading provider of converged mobile and fixed telecom services in high-growth EU markets. We see significant potential for above-industry growth and further consolidation," expressed.
