ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS), a division of ViacomCBS, announced the start of production of its dramedy “Cecilia,” part of the portfolio of original content developed for the streaming platform Paramount+.
"We are excited to begin filming 'Cecilia,' one of the first VIS originals for Paramount+ and the beginning of a new era for our studio. This story deals with some highly relatable topics that will undoubtedly capture the attention of audiences everywhere," said Federico Cuervo, SVP & Head of VIS Americas.
The series, which stars Mariana Treviño, tells the story of a woman whose world seemingly crumbles when she suffers a stroke. But what at first seems like a tragedy ends up being an opportunity to reunite her family and rebuild her life.
“Cecilia” also stars Erik Hayser, Michel Brown, and Martín Altomaro. The cast also includes Marimar Vega, César Bono, Lumi Cavazos, Ignacio Riva Palacio, Mariana Zaragoza, Leo Deluglio, Eligio Meléndez, Raquel Garza, Mónica Ayos, Natalia Coronado, and Aminta Ireta. Created by renowned writer and director Daniel Burman, the series is directed by Ihtzi Hurtado and is executive produced by Inna Payán.
