The Nordic crime drama “The Bridge” (1-4 seasons) has been sold by ZDF Enterprises to Israel’s public broadcaster KAN, in a deal brokered by Yuliya Fischer, Director of ZDFE.drama at ZDF Enterprises.
“The Bridge” proved to be so popular it has been remade five times across the following countries: UK/France, USA/Mexico, Estonia/Russia, Malaysia/Singapore, and Germany/Austria. Winner of two Golden Nymph Awards, the series stars Swedish actress Sofia Helin as the incomparable Saga Norén, and Danish actors Kim Bodnia and Thure Lindhardt.
"We are happy to have concluded our first deal with ZDF Enterprises and acquired ‘The Bridge,’ one of the cult drama series in Nordic noir genre. Regardless of its production year and the fact that it has already been shown in Israel, we believe that due to its high quality production, ‘The Bridge’ (Ha Gesher) will earn repeated interest of our audiences. The series is schedule to air starting January 23, 2021," said Sara Gaon, Head of Acquisitions at KAN/IPBC.
