Madd Entertainment is presenting a hot slate of new Turkish Dramas at Mipcom 2019, including Turkey’s highest-rated series in seven years, “A Miracle,” and two other renowned titles: “The Choice” and “Love Makes You Cry”.
“A Miracle” is MF Yapim’s adaptation of the international hit franchise “The Good Doctor,” featuring Taner Ölmez in the title role of Ali, a surgical resident with autism and savant syndrome. The struggles of this awkward genius trying to fit in at a prestigious hospital have captivated the nation, bringing the highest ratings of any series in seven years. The show debuted strong on Fox Turkey and in just a month nearly doubled its audience with an incredible 43 share.
The Ay Yapim’s series “The Choice” features an all-star ensemble including Halit Ergenç, Ozan Güven, Aslı Enver, Birce Akalay, Nur Fettahoğlu, and Mesut Akusta. In the story, an unemployed professor concocts what turns out to be Turkey’s largest-ever financial fraud in the course of trying to save his son’s life.
“Love Makes You Cry” is a hot new series from the creators of “Mother” and “Woman,” produced by MF Yapim. Their adaptation of the Japanese hit tells the story of a beautiful country girl who runs away to Istanbul in order to escape an arranged marriage and finds true love along the way. Since its September premiere on Turkey’s Show TV, this adaptation of the hit Japanese series has become the #1 drama series on Sunday nights.
This powerful slate of new Turkish dramas caps a brilliant year for Madd Entertainment, which has already signed 60 contracts bringing Turkish content to 67 countries. During Mipcom, for example, the distributor licensed the Ay Yapim series “Kuzgun” to Albania’s TVKlan. This marks the third deal between TVKlan and Madd Entertainment.
“The best channel in Albania must have the best products from the best company,” explained Albert Dumani, TVKlan’s Head of Programming & Acquisitions. “Secondly, ‘Kuzgun’ is so intense with action and romance. Last, but not the least, are the leading actors, who are very well-known and beloved by viewers all over the world,” he added.
