GMA REACHES MYANMAR WITH THREE POWERFUL DRAMAS

The Filipino distributor sold the top-rating series “My Korean Jagiya”; the romantic drama “Once Again” and GMA’s award-winning romantic comedy series “The One That Got Away” in the state of Southeast Asia.

GMA continues to be the premiere source of Filipino content in Myanmar with the recent launch of three of its dramas in the country through partnerships built by GMA Network’s content distribution subsidiary, GMA Worldwide (GWI) with content distributors in the region.

The top-rating series “My Korean Jagiya” starring Heart Evangelista (“Beautiful Strangers”, “Juan Happy Love Story”), and K-Pop artist Alexander Lee recently completed its run on MWD Channel’s primetime, through distributor Dream 99 Media. The series which was shot on location in Seoul and Manila was GMA’s most successful romantic comedy series in 2017.

Romantic drama “Once Again” will premiere on October 23 on Myanmar’s 5 Plus free-to-air television channel through GWI’s partnership with Family Entertainment. The series stars Janine Gutierrez (“Legally Blind”) opposite Aljur Abrenica as star-crossed lovers reincarnated to give their love another chance.

Finally, GMA’s award-winning romantic comedy series “The One That Got Away” premiered on October 19 on Channel 7, the second free-to-air channel of Myanmar’s Forever Group. The series bagged a Silver Screen Award in the 2018 US International Film and Video Awards in the dramatic comedy category. It features a powerhouse cast led by Dennis Trillo, Lovi Poe, Rhian Ramos and Max Collins. It tackles how modern women handle love, friendship and relationships.

The Filipino company will be attending the Japan market with its best dramas. The offer include the family drama “The Gift” (25x45’) that tell the story of Joseph who lost his sight after being hit by a stray bullet.

In the crime drama “Beautiful Justice” (25x45’) a common tragedy brings Alice, Brie, and Kitkat together and they team up to form a vigilante group to uncover the truth behind the murder of their loved ones in a suspicious buy-bust operation.

In the romantic comedy “Love You Two” (45x45’) Raffy finds out that her sister, Sam is in love with Jake, a man twice her age. Raffy worries Jake will take advantage of Sam’s naiveté and makes it her mission to separate them.

On the other hand, in the crime drama “For Love Or Money (45x45’) Mariel’s husband, Eldon, who is away working in the Middle East is accused of murdering his employer. Eldon is spared from a death sentence, but he has to pay blood money worth 50 million pesos.

In the rivalry drama “The Better Woman” (35x45’) Juliet reunites with her estranged biological family and discovers her twin sister, Jasmine’s perfect life with Andrew. They are happily married, except that Jasmine cannot bear a child. Juliet becomes attracted to Andrew and seduces him.

Also, part of the offer og GMA is the family drama “Prima Donnas” (40x45’) where Lillian becomes the surrogate mother of Jaime and Maita’s triplets, but Kendra learns about this and plots to kill Maita, Lilian, and the unborn children.

Finally, the romantic comedy  “My Crown Princess” (25x45’) tell the story of Grant who is a romantic that believes that everyone wears an invisible crown that can only be seen by the person they are destined to be with forever.
