QUINTUS STUDIOS BOLSTERS CATALOGUE WITH FACTUAL ACQUITISIONS

The distribution company and media agency added titles from Red Arrow Studios International; Canamedia and Broken Arrow Media to its offer.

International distribution and media agency Quintus Studios has acquired a raft of high-end factual documentaries from a host of producers and distributors. Gerrit Kemming, Managing Director of the company  said, “It's a great honor for us that more and more content owners trust Quintus to be one of the companies which has really understood the AVOD business, turning it into significant revenues. We have started to grow into offering serious alternatives to linear broadcast deals in specific territories especially when it comes to the exploitation of strong back catalogue titles.  It's just great fun, not just for us but for content owners as well.”

From Red Arrow Studios International, the company has acquired “Galileo”, the world’s number one science-tainment magazine show produced by ProSieben Television for ProSieben (Germany).  The long-running show looks at the science behind everything, from everyday objects and cutting-edge technology to the environment and the natural world, using a mix of studio-based hosts and experiments, on location adventures and expert help to feature a wealth of interesting subjects.

In a package deal, Quintus Studios has picked up over 35 hours of underwater and oceanic content from Canamedia including the Emmy Award-winning series “Blue World” (49x30’) hosted by Jonathan Bird, one of the world’s top underwater nature cinematographers, “Blue Realm” (13x60’) a stunning and engrossing series featuring amazing undersea animals and marine life and “Shark Divers” (1x90”) a feature-length documentary focusing on a diverse and eclectic group of skilled professionals fascinated by sharks. 

Finally, from Australia’s Broken Arrow Media an independent media company with production and distribution of international programming at its core comes the space science documentary “To The Moon – From Dream to Reality” (1x90’) and the series “Trajectory” (13x30’). The firts title looks back at the people and the technology of the Apollo era. Between 1969 and 1972 twelve men walked on the surface of the moon.  It was seen as the first chapter in an ambitious program of space exploration.  But what started with NASA’s Apollo missions ended with the Apollo missions.  Humanity’s boldest venture is now 50 years in the past.  Whilst “Trajectory” examines the very latest space science and commercial developments in space hardware as well as paying homage to the historic advances that enabled man and machine to break loose from gravity to travel beyond the earth.
