Netflix to debut Mathieu Dufour's new comedy special

The special is filming on Saturday, 23 July as part of the "Just For Laughs Montreal."

Netflix confirmed Mathieu Dufour's plans to film his first Netflix original stand-up comedy special. “We are thrilled to be extending our collaboration with Netflix, and to be introducing the exceptional artist that is Mathieu Dufour to their many subscribers," Patrick Rozon, Vice-President of French Content, Just For Laughs TV, said. "Mathieu is an extremely talented Quebecois comedian, and we are proud to be able to contribute to his success through this project. We are also very pleased to enable people who were unable to attend the Festival this summer to do so from the comfort of their own homes thanks to this unique show!” 

The special is filming on Saturday, 23 July as part of the "Just For Laughs Montreal." “Learning that Netflix wanted to work with me on this project felt completely surreal! Being able to partner with them on this exceeds any expectations I could have had for my career," Mathieu Dufour said.

"The taping of the show was confirmed barely a month ago and it is amazing how quickly everyone involved has come together so that we can all be a part of this amazing opportunity," Dufour said. "To be performing at the Bell Centre was huge for me already, to have Netflix as part of this feels completely crazy! I don't know how I will ever top this experience, I don’t think I will quite believe that this is real until I open the Netflix app and watch the show!”

The platform will reveal additioinal details about the stand-up special will be shared later this year. “Math is a unique comedic voice and a perfect example of the amazing talent in Quebec,"  Tara Woodbury, Manager, Canada Series Netflix said.
