Samsung TV partners with Chefclub to launch fast channel in France and Switzerland

Since its original 2016 launch, the brand has accumulated 100 million followers and 2.5 billion global views a month, five themed channels, and licensing agents in the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, China, and Benelux, among other opportunities.

Chefclub has entered a major OTT agreement with Samsung TV Plus to launch a FAST channel in France and Switzerland. "With innovative storytelling, Chefclub has invented a unique and inclusive concept. Samsung TV Plus is proud to be the launch partner of their new FAST channel and to bring Chefclub's original content to our French & Swiss audiences, directly to Samsung Smart TVs and Samsung Galaxy smartphones with Samsung TV Plus," Antoine Chotard, leading Business Development for Samsung TV Plus France, said.

The advertiser-supported Chefclub channel is now available on Samsung TV Plus in France and Switzerland in a deal that serves as the first of its kind to reach the AVOD space.Since its initial 2016 launch, the brand has garnered 100 million followers and 2.5 billion global views a month, five themed channels, licensing agents in the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, China, and Benelux; a D2C and D2R consumer product business; a publishing division with 700,000 books sold to date; and two Licensing International Awards for Best Digital Brand in France in 2019 and in Germany in 2021.

The Chefclub channel was launched in December 2021 with 50 hours of existing Chefclub content, with 10 hours of new content to be added every month. Samsung TV Plus is free TV and comes pre-installed on all 2016-2022 Samsung Smart TVs. It is also available for download from the Google Play and Galaxy Store on select Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets, offering viewers instant access to Chefclub along with an ever-growing number of free channels across multiple genres including news, sports and entertainment. “Now in our sixth successful year, Chefclub has ambitious plans to extend our brand and enrich the experiences of our 100 million followers beyond social media," Thomas Lang, CEO and Co-founder, Chefclub, said. Chefclub’s expansion into OTT streaming follows its transition into linear TV with the animated series "Chefclub Friends" by TBC. Targeted at 5-7-year-olds, the 11-part action-comedy edutainment series is currently in development. Starring the popular animated mascots from the Chefclub Kids digital platform, Chefclub Friends follows intrepid kitchen enthusiasts Maurice, Lola, Carlton, Colette, Elvis, and the Kikitos as they set out to discover the world with their eyes and their taste buds.
