Oliver Laxe's "Sirât" has achieved a landmark victory for Spanish cinema, winning the Jury Prize at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. The film, an original production by Movistar Plus+, marks a significant milestone as the first Spanish platform-backed title to receive one of Cannes’ top honors. Co-produced with Filmes da Ermida, El Deseo, Uri Films, and 4a4 Productions, the film is set for theatrical release in Spain on June 6 through Bteam Pictures. International sales are being handled by The Match Factory.

"Sirât", known for Laxe’s signature poetic realism, strengthens Movistar Plus+’s reputation as a key player in Europe’s high-end content arena. The win follows the platform’s recent triumph at Festival Series Mania, where it earned the two top awards with original series "Querer" and "Celeste." With a growing slate of critically acclaimed productions, Movistar Plus+ is positioning itself as a driving force in both the film and premium series markets on the international stage.
