LA Screenings 2024: VIP 2000 TV and GoQuest launch "Kuma"/The Other Wife"

The Turkish series star by Aybüke Yilmaz and Emre Özmen will be shot in Cappadocia and Istanbul with the distinguished showrunner Inci Gulen Oarr on board.

Following the earlier announcement of a co-production between GoQuest Media and VIP 2000 TV, the cast and crew for the eagerly awaited Turkish daily series, "Kuma /The Other Wife," have been finalized. Principal photography has already commenced in Cappadocia and will continue in Istanbul, and the series is set to be presented at LA Screenings.

The series is helmed by the distinguished showrunner Inci Gulen Oarr ("Elif," "Cannim Annem," and "Wounded Birds") These series have achieved international acclaim, particularly in Spanish-speaking markets including Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the United States (Hispanic), and Spain.

Directing the series are the seasoned Atilla Cengiz and Irmak Çengel, ("Ask Yarasi" and "Toprak ile Fidan"). The script leadership comes from Ahmet Köşeoğlu, with significant contributions from chief writer Hande Öksüz (Canim Annem" and "Toprak ile Fidan").

“Kuma” traces the journey of Ceylan who runs away from home and meets Karan, a wealthy young businessman. They fall in love and are soon set to be married. But when Ceylan is framed for murder, Karan marries his brother’s widow instead and forces Ceylan to become his kuma, a second wife to bear his children. Leading the cast are the dynamic Aybüke Yilmaz ("Fedakar") and Emre Özmen ("Bir Zamanlar Kibris / Once Upon A Time in Cyprus"), portraying the characters Ceylan and Karan, respectively. They are joined by Ufuk Kaplan ("Ask-I Memnu/Forbidden Love").
