This year's International Audiovisual marketing event, translated as Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo, recently announced the new dates for its in-person event next year. The key trade event of the domestic and international audiovisual industry, will be back in Rome from October 19 to 23, 2022 for its eighth edition, driving on the excellent results of the past editions as a calling card.

The eighth edition will return to the Barberini District with an intense four-day program of panels, showcases, and screenings promoted by MIA’s three divisions: Scripted, Unscripted and Strategic Development, designed with the aim of anticipating the industry trends and supporting the audiovisual ecosystem most efficiently from an international perspective. As for the previous editions, on-site activities will be enhanced and integrated with online ones, through MIA DIGITAL.

Since 2015, MIA has recorded an 84% growth in terms of attendance and content presented. The recently wrapped 2021 edition witnessed the great return to Italy of the main protagonists of the audiovisual industry, welcomed in total safety, for a total of 2000 accredited participants from 56 countries, 100% in attendance. The +600 international key players in Rome were joined by 450 producers, 800 buyers of finished products and projects, 150 market screenings (80 of which previews), 150 projects and works in progress (70% Italian), 59 panels in the venues of Cinema Moderno and Palazzo Barberini, and 40000 B2B meetings.

The event was founded and continues to grow thanks to the consolidated joint venture between ANICA – l'Associazione Nazionale Industrie Cinematografiche Audiovisive e Digitali presided by Francesco Rutelli and APA – Associazione Produttori Audiovisivi chaired by Giancarlo Leone, with the vital support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, ICE, and the support of MiC (Ministry of Culture), Ministry of Economic Development, Lazio Region, MEDIA program of the European Union. Important partnerships endure with UniCredit, Apulia Film Commission, and Fondazione Cinema per Roma, and in 2021 new commercial supporters have entered the arena, such as Fastweb.
