After successful participation at MIP Junior and MIPCOM, and with a long-standing tradition of creating globally appealing animated content for kids, Italy’s Gruppo Alcuni heads to MIP Cancun 2025 with an impressive slate of productions.
“Taking part in MIP Cancun means creating a bridge between Europe and Latin America, with its unique opportunity to consolidate and develop new animated content for kids,” comments Francesco Manfio, producer and Gruppo Alcuni CEO.
MIP Cancun is a slot for the major Italian production company to present its most cherished animated series, such as "Leo da Vinci" 1 & 2, "Mini Pet Pals", "Vlady & Mirò", "Symo & Rose", along with the brand-new "MiniDinos" and "The Fairy Tales."
Excitement abounds as MIP Cancun will also debut a sneak peek of "Pet Pals – Return", in co-production with RAI Kids, to celebrate 25 years of Gruppo Alcuni’s global hit series and feature films starring the beloved Pet Pals characters. "Pet Pals" - Return is officially scheduled to broadcast in spring 2026.
Another much-awaited launch for the tweens target is "The Black Diamond Race". This impressive CGI adventure series, with its 9 x 45’ format, is a Gruppo Alcuni original concept, co-produced with RAI Kids, RTVE, Broadvision and Motion Pictures.
Taking place in 1929 Europe and India, "The Black Diamond Race" follows Maharaja Jay Singh’s young daughter Rani, who dreams of defying social norms to become a famous race car driver. In a battle against time and the world’s most wanted criminals, Rani and her European team mates steer their viewers through an exhilarating escapade, aboard legendary race cars, with unpredictable perils and breath-taking landscapes.
Wrapped up just in time for MIP Cancun, the series has already been optioned by leading European channels and is guaranteed to win over pre-teens with its exquisitely crafted blend of engaging storyline, remarkable resilience and dynamic pace.
