NATPE Global, which will take place on January 16 to 18, 2024, at the InterContinental Miami, has secured a multi-faceted partnership with the Worldwide Audiovisual Women’s Association (WAWA) to advance women in the global audiovisual sector.

“We are absolutely thrilled to embark on this long-term partnership journey with WAWA, which has quickly established itself as a powerful force for good in the international audiovisual community. Launching a mentorship program and an exclusive event for women leaders is a natural progression of our collaboration,”  said Claire Macdonald, Executive Director of NATPE Global.

“Our association's mission is to establish a robust presence in all the important international markets. Last month, we achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 500 members. This achievement is a testament to the dedicated volunteer work of many individuals. After a four-year absence, we are returning to NATPE, having successfully navigated some of the most formidable challenges the audiovisual industry faces. As our Board of Directors emphasizes: 'we are indeed stronger together',”  added Roxana Rotundo, Chair of the Board of Directors of WAWA.

WAWA and NATPE Global will team up to host the “Wonder Women” mentorship program, composed of 10-12 female students from audio visual programs at Florida International University, with Maggie Salas-Amaro Castellon, Director of Canela Kids, spearheading recruitment. WAWA will manage the program and all mentees will receive complimentary access to NATPE Global.

In addition, WAWA will have a significant market presence in January including a 600 sq. ft pavilion space, and will launch an annual invite-only “WAWA-NATPE Wonder Women Lunch,”  taking place on January 17 at the InterContinental Miami, featuring finalists for the 2023 WAWA Woman of the Year Award. Moderated by Cynthia Hudson, SVP & General Manager of CNN en Español, the exclusive panel will examine the industry shifts, business models, and adaptation over the last several years, and explore the unprecedented changes the industry has faced.

Finally, NATPE Global will be the presenting sponsor of “WAWA First Look Turquia,” scheduled for Thursday, January 11, 2024. The annual online event showcases Turkish content from key distributors that will be available for licensing in Miami, later in the month.
