NATPE recently jotted a few more speakers and programming blocks to be presented at next year's NATPE Miami event. The conference is scheduled to return to its physical form from 18-20 January at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami, Florida. “This year’s conference focuses on new opportunities and new markets in streaming, international co-productions, financing and a ground-breaking session on advertising and monetization," JP Bommel, President and CEO, NATPE, said. "As we return in-person, NATPE fulfills its mission to connect, educate and accelerate business opportunities across all platforms.”
In terms of content and ad investments, this year's Miami edition of NATPE will begin with a financial discussion with Founding Partner of Puck News, Matthew Belloni , who will serve as moderator for Lionsgate Television Group Chair, Kevin Beggs; Aventine LLC Co-CEO Kevin Mayer; and Managing Director and Senior Media & Entertainment Analyst at BofA Securities Global Research Jessica Reif Ehrlich. On Wednesday, Laura Molen, President Advertising and Partnerships at NBCUniversal will begin a media-buyers discussion on revenue opportunities in advertising and marketing. She will speak alongside Denise Ocasio, Executive Director, Investment at Mindshare; Brian Doherty, SVP, Ad Sales, CW; and Mike Peretz, EVP, Ad Sales Revenue Management, A+E.
The afternoon of the first day of NATPE will be dedicated to the inner workings of international content production with a discussion between Teresa Fernández-Valdés, Executive Producer, Bambú Producciones, Firat Gulgen, CEO and Founder, Calinos, and Luca Bernabei, CEO and Producer. The conversation will be followed by Lux Vide, who will be tasked with covering the “Global Drama 2022: Where In-Language Originals Dominate" session. Then, the topic of global co-production shifts will feature Francoise Guyonnet, Executive Managing Director TV Series, STUDIOCANAL; Matt Creasey, EVP, Sales, Co-Productions & Acquisitions, Rest of the World, Banijay Rights; Ana Bond, SVP and Managing Director, International Production, Latin America, Sony; and Christian Vesper, President of Global Drama, Fremantle.
Kathleen Finch, Chief Lifestyle Brand Officer, Discover Inc. will also contribute to the talks, followed by a session on the shifting nature of the unscripted industry moderated by Bruce David Klein, Founder and Executive Producer, Atlas Media Corp., and featuring Ben Samek, President & Chief Operating Officer, Endemol Shine Americas; Max Einhorn, SVP, Acquisitions and Co-Productions, FilmRise; Elaine Frontain Bryant, EVP and Head of Programming, A+E Networks; and Courtney White, President, Food Network.

A recently established partnership with Podcast Movement will bring the new session, “How Television is Becoming a Part of the Podcast Movement," where Becky Rho, Director of Podcast & Digital Production, HBO and HBO Max; Donald Albright, CEO, Tenderfoot TV; and Aaron Hart, Head of TV/Film, Wondery, will discuss the value of podcasts as a springboard for television program development, as a way to build deeper connections with television audiences, and as an opportunity for television networks to create original content in a new medium. Rebecca Jarvis, Host and creator of “The Dropout” podcast and ABC News chief business, technology & economics correspondent will moderate.
