"Blood Red Thread"
ZDF Studios, Boogie Entertainment and France tv distribution thrilling new crime drama "Blood Red Thread" (6x45’), has won the C21 Content London Drama International Series Pitch Award which is endowed with £30,000. The award was presented to headwriter Zoe Laband, story editor Tracey Lee-Rainers and the show’s producers Rolant Hergert and Titus Kreyenberg.
The quirky crime series is set in the glamorous and eccentric, but cutthroat world of fashion and is currently being developed by Berlin based Boogie Entertainment in collaboration with ZDF Studios and France tv distribution. Shooting is scheduled for 2025 and will take place in the UK, France and Italy.
Kate, a British detective in her thirties who finds shopping an ordeal, travels to Paris to investigate the apparent suicide of Imamoto, the renowned Japanese designer at Paris Noir, a prestigious haute couture house. Upon her arrival in Paris, Kate must content with Jérôme, an eager and ambitious young Parisian rookie, while also navigating the unexpected arrival of her teenage daughter, a fashion obsessed ‘Instagirl’, who shows up in Paris to explore its vibrant party scene. As events unfold, her daughter unwittingly becomes entangled in the investigation, drawing them both into the shadowy underbelly of the fashion world.
The C21 Content London Drama International Series Pitch Award showcased some of the most exciting development projects in the scripted space from across the globe, with the projects using this platform to look for partners to help take them to the next level. This year there were over 100 submissions and eight projects have been selected to pitch live at Content London.
