"Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir", the globally acclaimed animated series, is entering a new phase of growth. Presented at the 2025 Annecy Festival, the franchise is not only celebrating its 10th anniversary, but also laying the groundwork for a larger interconnected superhero universe under the banner of Miraculous Corp, the joint venture launched a year ago between Mediawan and ZAG.

Andy Yeatman, who marks his first anniversary as CEO of Miraculous Corp, is leading the charge to grow the brand well beyond its Parisian roots. He brings extensive experience in kids' entertainment with decades of experience across Moonbug, Netflix, and Disney. During a conversation with Senalnews, Yeatman shared how the brand is evolving beyond its original series. "These are our heroes, Ladybug and Cat Noir, created by the talented trio Jérémy Zag, Thomas Astruc, and Nathanaël Bronn," Yeatman explained when asked about the foundation of the series. "Ladybug is Marinette in her everyday life. Adrien is Cat Noir. They both have crushes on each other but don't know their secret identities—we call it the 'love square'. It's what has driven the show through five seasons, 150 episodes, four specials, and a feature film. We're in season six now, already producing season seven, and we have plans through season 12," he stated

But Yeatman and his team are thinking bigger. "We're going from a story about a couple of heroes to a full superhero universe," he said. "Our first spinoff, 'Stellar Force,' is based in Tokyo. Marinette travels there in a one-hour special debuting on Disney later this year. She meets a new group of teen superheroes—so fans get introduced to the next generation through a character they already love."

The new series, which launches in 2027, marks a departure in style and tone. "It's a 2D anime-inspired show with kung fu, action, comedy, and teen drama all in one. It's a very different look and feel that we think will resonate globally." Moreover, fan response has been swift and passionate. "We dropped just one image and within 30 minutes, there was fan art all over the internet," Yeatman affirmed. "The audience is incredibly engaged. They tell us when they love something and when they don't. But so far, they love the look of 'Stellar Force.'"

2025 isn't just the 10th anniversary of the series. It's also the first birthday of Miraculous Corp itself, a foundational year for the brand. "The show launched, and season one premiered 10 years ago, so we're celebrating our 10th anniversary. It began as a co-production between two producers, Jeremy Zag and Aton Soumache, from Zag and Mediawan Kids & Family. They co-owned the IP for more than 10 years. Then, last year, Miraculous Corp was created by the association between ZAG and Mediawan, the leading European studio founded and led by Pierre-Antoine Capton, with the idea of having an entire team and organization dedicated solely to building out this franchise. That's when I joined, exactly a year ago today. Since then, we've been fully focused on Miraculous: this universe, these characters, and the new characters we're introducing into the world."

That focus is already paying off"According to Parrot Analytics, we were the second most popular show globally for kids aged 6 to 11—just behind "SpongeBob". And that's with us being just 10 years old. The rest of the list is made up of properties that are 15 to 25 years old." Yeatman believes the show is already transitioning into a legacy franchise. "We had a panel with animation students, and one of them told us she chose her career path because of our show. That kind of emotional connection is what makes a brand endure."

Behind that continuity lies the original creative team."As it has always been, Thomas Astruc is the showrunner and director. Sébastien Thibaudeau is our head writer. Nathanaël Bronn, our co-creator, is the art director. So that same core team is still working on the show, which is really impressive and important." From Paris to Tokyo and beyond, Miraculous Corp is charting a future that blends fan-favorite characters with fresh voices and new global stories. With Yeatman steering the ship, the next decade looks ready to take flight.
