MIAM! distribution is introducing new series aligned with its existing line-up and designed to make a significant impact on audiences. One of the standout titles is “Mare the Mermaid” (10x22), a 2D serialized comedy for young adults produced by Silex Films (“Brazen”). “It’s a comedy about mermaids that deals with identity, gender, and sexuality,” said Mélanie Errea, Head of Sales and Acquisitions at MIAM! distribution. The series follows Princess Pelagie, who leaves her royal life behind to attend college under the alias "Mare," aiming to escape the media spotlight and her mother’s watchful eye. “The story is about how she tries to discover her own identity and personality, which is challenging when you’re 18,” added Lucille Janvier, Sales and Acquisitions Manager.

Another highlight from MIAM! distribution is “The Tinies” (50×11' +1x22’+ 52×3'), which is currently in production, with the first episode already available. “We’re incredibly excited about the visuals and stories being developed by MIAM! Studio,” said Errea. The series is scheduled for delivery in Q4 2025 and has been commissioned by Canal+ and VRT in Belgium. “We’ve secured additional pre-sales, including with Télé-Québec, RTE in Ireland, and BeIN in the Middle East,” she added. “The Tinies” is a character-driven sitcom comedy for upper pre-schoolers, based on the work of French artist Martine Camillieri. It aims to inspire young children to embrace upcycling and creating their own toys. “We realized that when kids build and upcycle, it boosts their self-confidence. Hanna Mouchez, the producer, took Camillieri’s artistic concept and workshops and transformed them into a TV series with a dual format: 50 episodes of an 11 minutes (and a 22’ Christmas special) real-time CGI comedy and 52 by 3-minute 'do-it-yourself' tutorials in stop motion and live action,” Errea explained.

Errea also emphasized the innovative production process behind “The Tinies”. “We’re using Unreal Engine, which allows us to achieve the photorealistic rendering we envisioned for the show. Real-time 3D also helps us reduce CO2 emissions during production, aligning with our commitment to sustainability,” she said. This real-time 3D technology also enables the creation of additional content to expand the intellectual property (IP) and deepen audience engagement. “We’re planning online games for ‘The Tinies’, as we did for ‘Edmond and Lucy’. We also plan to develop a publishing strategy and family workshops,” she added.

Another key title from MIAM! distribution is "Our Summer of Freedom" (6×26' + 6x5'), set to premiere on France TV, VRT, RTBF, and RTS in Switzerland in late October this year. “We’ve also secured DR in Denmark, and we may have more big announcements in the coming weeks,” Errea revealed. The series, which was nominated at the Annecy Festival, is a serialized adventure for kids and families. Set in Algiers in 1955, it follows nine-year-old Khadidja and her friends Lyes, Philippe, and Ahmed as they try to rescue Khadidja’s older brother Malek, who has been unjustly imprisoned. “It’s an ambitious project with almost feature film-quality animation,” said Errea. “Although it’s set in a very specific historical context, its themes of justice and friendship are universal. The show also aims to spark intergenerational conversations, encouraging children to ask their grandparents about their origins,” she added.

Finally, MIAM! distribution is launching “The Dangers” (10×13'), a new serialized comedy produced by Tchack. “The story is set in a post-apocalyptic future, where a mysterious event called ‘The Big Kaboom’ has caused nature to reclaim cities, animals to start talking, humans to lose their voices, and electricity to vanish,” described Janvier. The series follows the Danger family—siblings Tess and Oscar, their father Bricks, and their mother Anna, a scientist who disappeared during the Big Kaboom. The family embarks on a quest to find Anna. “It’s a show about family bonds, with ambitious animation and stunning backgrounds,” mentioned Errea. One episode is currently finished, and the full series is scheduled for delivery in Q3 2025.

MIAM! distribution’s new titles cater to all audience segments. “We have pre-school content with ‘The Tinies’, kids' comedy with ‘The Dangers’, co-viewing with ‘Our Summer of Freedom’, and young adult content with ‘Mare the Mermaid’. These launches align with our values and editorial line—offering shows that promote ecology, tolerance, and family bonds. It’s a whole ecosystem of series that will resonate with audiences, which is something we’re very passionate about at MIAM!,” concluded Errea.
