The demand in the lead up to the new season of “Narcos: Mexico” was higher in the United States than that ahead of any previous season of the franchise, according to new data from Parrot Analytics.

Two days ahead of its Thursday debut, the company’s Time-Shift Analysis tracked US demand for the newest season of "Narcos: Mexico" to be: 40% higher than demand two days before the “Narcos: Mexico” season 1 release; 4.80x higher than demand two days before the “Narcos” season 3 release; 5.04x higher than demand two days before the “Narcos” season 2 release; and 39x higher than demand two days before the “Narcos” season 1 release.

“Narcos: Mexico” is an American crime drama series created and produced by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro, that premiered on Netflix on November 16, 2018. It was originally intended to be the fourth season of the Netflix series’ “Narcos,” but it was ultimately developed as a companion series.

The story focuses on the illegal drug trade in Mexico, whereas the parent series centered on the illegal drug trade in Colombia. On December 5 of 2018, Netflix renewed the series for a second season, which premiered last February 13.
